From segregated schools that receive less funding in property taxes, to the history of redlining black homeowners, to the long history of slavery, oppression, and segregation, white families were accumulating wealth. That "old money" has provided the capital for the modern-day billionaires, and even average-income white families, to stay significantly ahead of black Americans. Pride in your heritage can be a beautiful thing. It can promote self-confidence, a sense of community, and a broader awareness of the issues a particular group of people may face. But what happens when that pride is used for totally opposite reasons? ‘White pride’ has, over the course of history, been a weapon used against people of color to silence and oppress them. It has associations with some pretty horrendous groups that promote violence and prejudice (such as the KKK). So when people wonder why it’s unacceptable to celebrate white pride, it’s important to consider its background.

The general critique has been that Beyonce is instigating violence against police officers, and that she should not have used her platform at the Super Bowl to discuss controversial issues in the black community. However, if you look back to some of the hate-mail that Martin Luther King Jr. received in the 1960s, the comments are eerily similar. It makes you wonder why MLK, now respected as a symbol of peaceful protest and racial unity, was viewed by many at the time as an instigator of violence and segregation. Why were people trying to silence a man speaking out against obvious injustice and why are they doing the same to Beyonce?

On Intersectionality in Feminism and Pizza **KEY**: Burgers = Men Pizza = Women Cheese Pizza = White Women Deluxe Pizza = any combination of gay, bi, trans, POC etc., women I think it's time we talk about feminism a little differently/more inclusively on YouTube. While it's great and delightful to have such broad discussions about sexism and feminism on the internet, it's pretty clear that the majority of the issues deemed worthy of discussion seem to only highlight the plight of White women. We're all hoping that one day women will be treated as equals on a societal level with men, but in the meantime, it would be nice if we could talk about issues maybe a little more pressing like the lack of media coverage when intersectional women go missing, or the reality of the pay gap. "...land gets sold you'll find this place is mostly holiday resorts.....most of the land is taken by estate villages but then we don't get houses. It's been more 12 years" "....the promise that came to the communities was that any development that takes place here the community should get something but its never happened...the community never gets anything that is promised....they build swimming pools but we cannot use running water....we're still living in the Apartheid Era, we are not free yet to get what we're suppose to get as equals in the free democracy of South Africa" South Africa has progressed, however, much still needs to be done, as confirmed by the residents of Zwelihle - a small township situated between the more affluent towns of Hermanus and Sandbaai. We sat down with members of the township as they shared the difficulties they experience. They speak of underdeveloped housing, the lack of job opportunity and Government support as well as the language barriers they face whilst searching for employment in the surrounding areas, even comparing their current struggles to those faced during Apartheid. They feel ignored and discouraged as much of their efforts to improve the situation for themselves ends in stagnation. Leading many to a life of crime as a last resort. Power, Strength, Dignity Pt 2
“Today I can proudly say, I’m a survivor, I was a victim then but I’m not a victim anymore” The term Rape Culture was first used in the United States during the 1970s in feminist discussions on rape. Defined as a multifaceted societal belief structure, which fosters an absurd normality around sexual violence; it speaks of a society in which blame is assigned to victims, while the actions of perpetrators are disregarded as just another part of life which must be accepted. From our frightening rape statistics, it is evident that this belief is rife in our communities. In the second installment of Power, Strength, Dignity, we hear from another brave survivor who has had more than one experience with sexual violence and refuses to accept blame.

Cardi B and her RATCHET Antics #GirlTalk
Hey #Queen Team, in this video I talk about how I feel Cardi B handles her fame and her oppurtunity. Now I understand some people are NOT going to agree with me and thats fine but let’s be respectful. Don’t come on here cussing me and calling me names for speaking on your fave. I understand not everyone’s route and journey to their success differs but I, ME, QUEEN CHIOMA, PERSONALLY believes in giving credit to diligence and passion withins one’s craft. We all know Nicki just faced so much adversity within rap and within jump starting her career because she came out during a time were social media and exotic dancers transitioning into the music industry or just becoming famous was not a trend. Idk yall, I like her to an extent, but I just don’t like when someone has it all but behave like they are not content or still bothers themselves with things they no longer have to endure. I wish she would just move on and stay focused on other things like rapping. About Me: Name: Chioma Age: 21 Location: Toledo, OH for College. From Philadelphia Major: Communications Fun Facts: 1. COLLEGE H0E$ #GirlTalk

COLLEGE H0E$ #GirlTalk
Hey #Queen Team, you’re at a part of your life where everything is going to change and you’re gonna meet girls, whether thats a roommate, classmate, or a girl who becomes popular on campus for a plethora of reasons. These girls didn’t come to college to learn. And if they did thats not their first priority. They came to turn up, feel a sense of freedom, and seek, crave, and garner attention from guys. Characteristics: 1. They barely go to class or do make it a priority 2. They post EVERYTHING to social media: where the go, who they’re with, what outfit they wear, when they’re turnt up, all the people they know,… 3. They have NO sense of censorship. That goes for what they say, who they have sex with, what they wear, etc. 4. They crave attention. Usually try their hardest to get validation from females, but guys who have titles like greeks, football players, the party promoter guys, the weedmen, etc. 5. They don’t make it past the first semester because of the reasons above. They became so dependent on being the campus IT girl, they’re on academic probation, suspension, or get put out for behavioral issues. Stay Woke - look out for fake friends - people who are not focused don school - people who you cannot relate to to - people who have bad intensions - people who cant take accountability for their shit Stay Confident - the summer before, figure out who you are and own it - Dont let a guy’s comments or opinions on other girls ruin you - surround yourself with confident people Be Yourself - Dont allow anyone to change you, manipulate you, or make you have peer pressure - Be able to tell yourself when you’re wrong or getting out of character. - Keep the same energy in all situations. You have to be known as the same person in every scenario - Disclaimers: Not saying if you do this yorue a hoe, but 9/10 they are. The real word I would consider the people I’m referring to is “ College Clout Chasers” or people in college who are here for the wrong reasons.
