“Three Sides Live” was filmed in November 1981 on the “Abacab” tour in North America DVD: Blu-Ray: Digital Version coming soon. Originally released on VHS to coincide with the live album of the same name. It has only ever been released digitally. Originally filmed in 16mm, the footage has now been fully restored and is being reissued. The show focuses on tracks from the “Duke” and “Abacab” albums and the tracks are intercut with behind the scenes footage and interviews with the band members. As ever with Genesis, the show is visually stunning and it captures the band in their transition from their progressive days in the seventies through to the hugely successful pop/rock act they became from the mid-eighties onwards. For more info - is the 40th Anniversary of the Electric Light Orchestra. ELO was formed in 1970 by Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood from the ashes of The Move. Roy Wood soon left to form Wizzard and Jeff Lynne lead ELO on to become one of the biggest selling acts of the seventies and eighties with global album sales in excess of 50 million. This DVD brings together three live concerts from the earlier part of the band's career. The first is a four track excerpt from a show at Brunel University in 1973, the second a longer eight track set filmed for the German TV series Rockpalast in 1974 and finally the Fusion concert from the New Victoria Theatre in London in 1976, filmed during the "Face The Music" tour. “From The Vault” is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. The Rolling Stones American Tour in 1981 was the most successful tour of that year taking a then record $50 million dollars in ticket sales. The tour was in support of the critically and commercially successful “Tattoo You” album. There were fifty dates on the tour which ran from Philadelphia at the end of September through to Hampton, Virginia on the 18th and 19th of December. The show on December 18th, which was also Keith Richards’ birthday, was the first ever music concert to be broadcast on television as a pay-per-view event. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show. For more info - & The Mechanics was formed in 1985 by Mike Rutherford of Genesis as a separate project to run alongside his work with Phil Collins and Tony Banks. They released their eponymous debut album the same year featuring vocals from both Paul Carrack (ex of Ace) and Paul Young (ex of Sad Caf?) and had an immediate hit with Silent Running. This was followed a string of further hit singles and albums as gaps in the Genesis schedule permitted. In 2004 the band reunited for the first time since the sad death of Paul Young in 2000 and released a new studio album Rewired. With Paul Carrack now handling all the lead vocals they went out on the road across Europe, culminating in this outstanding performance at London's Shepherds Bush Empire. Rage Against The Machine - Live At Finsbury Park Available on Digital: DVD: BR: late 2009 a successful campaign was launched by Jon Morter and his then wife Tracy to promote an alternative to the omnipresent X-Factor winner being the Christmas #1 in the UK singles chart. The track they nominated as the alternative was “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine. The band supported the campaign, donated the proceeds from the sales to charity and lead singer Zack de la Rocha promised that Rage Against The Machine would perform a free concert in the UK to celebrate the achievement. This went ahead in London’s Finsbury Park on 6th June 2010 and is captured on this film.
