Two Dozers are now in the Lower Cut. The Upper Cut is starting to run out of pay dirt.. Thankfully I have a full crew today and thankfully most of these guys have already been foreman, so they are getting some good experience. We continue to open new ground, and the wash plants continue to recover GOLD! We have been going at this mine-site ever since last year, but are really starting to see some color now. The weather is real, everything else.. well - mostly choreographed. What do I mean by that? We had such BIG PLANS for #YTG2020, and then the craziest thing happened. I couldn't write a more unpredictable script than what mother nature provided for us. March 2020 - a health crisis hit the world and historic measures were taken to stop a small invader that worked its way around the globe. People and businesses shuttered and Canada issues a "Stay at Home Order". Everything comes to a halt. My YouTube GOLD Crew - kept safe and healthy away from the mine site.. are mandated to stay away from the directly from the Canadian Prime Minister. I was still able to get through it with a respectful time.. but it certainly hurt my ability and predictability with my truck. As the smoke from the wildfires continue to blanket the prairies - the #YouTubeGOLD crew is hard at work. We continue our hunt towards our 1/2 oz of Gold for the season. I definitely have more respect for the Gold Miners of the world.. because even in 1/14th scale - this Sh!t is HARD! Krazy Joe and Rookie 101 are onsite today to give "Sluice box Steve" and I a hand. Sluice box is good on the controls - ut we have so much more we can do with new operators. Are we going to find Gold?! Of Course! The true secret of this show - is nothing you see is "real". Everything is generally staged (well as much as we can plan when playing!), and though we are mining for real gold (yes it's real pay dirt), the true Gold is the experience we get as friends, what we hope the viewers get watching a couple of goofballs entertain you with some very cool toys. I SURE DO LOVE BEING A DAD! Maurice is 5.5 years old, and is becoming deadly on the backyard trail course! Today, he is using his Traxxas "TRX4" Sport truck (https://amzn.to/2ws9hYv) to wheel his way to into a newly installed Truck Wash! This truck wash I featured last year (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWyCdo7WKa4) is super simple to make and only cost me about $25 to make.. so really easy! To up the pressure for this video, I installed a 800gph pump into a small hole I lined with rubber. I filled it with water, made a quick structure to support the rocks, and have the truck - wash re-circulate the water by Pumping it up, and having it fall back down on itself. Really simple! The battery is a deep cycle wheel chair, or small machine 12v. It doesnt take much to construct a backyard trail park.. as I mention in this film I have made smaller ones. Goes to work at 2:24 ! It is absolutely freezing out today (-18c), and a great opportunity to put the Spyker KAT to real work! This machine/robot is simply Incredible. There is no other word for it. The "Spyker KAT" is designed from the ground up by Ryan Spyker, of the Spyker Workshop - with power, torque and agility in mind. This is a 3d printed tracked vehicle with an all belt transmission powered by dual 540 motors. The complete snowblower assembly is easily removable with two screws. The kit for the KAT is modular, and can be purchased in different pieces starting with a base model build ARTR (Almost Ready to Run). This was my first time operating this 8 channel machine, and some practice is required. I also have one of these blower attachments on a Kyosho Blizzard - and the difference in the two machines is massive. The Spyker KAT has so much power and grip, even over the aluminum tracks on my other machine. Ryans website claims the KAT can support up to a 50lb carrying capacity. Today, this machine had no problem with the heavy snow. It has Massive ground clearance to climb over even the toughest obstacles.. and todays 4 inches of snow was no challenge. For such a large, intricate machine - it is very light, but surprisingly can hold up to sub-zero temperatures. As mentioned above - todays video was filmed at -18c, and the snow was quite heavy. OUR NEW BOAT iS HERE! My son, Maurice and I get to unbox a brand new "Rock n Roll" version of the Traxxas Spartan.. what an epic decal scheme they chose! I think Maurice has a great reaction to this speed boat.. and really is able to showcase the feeling we ALL get when we unbox a beautiful new toy! Maurice is 4.5 years old now, and is really starting to take a keen interest in filming our show, and the hobby of radio control. As a father, I couldn't be more happy. In fact, we go one step further in this film, and remove the proper shaft to inspect and add grease. I demonstrate the importance of wearing gloves while applying grease, while Maurice is an excellent assistant to the Boat Doctor. I sure am happy with Maurice, as he is showing a keen attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly. This is a prime time for me to lay a foundation for him that YOU CAN FiX ANYTHiNG. If a persona made it, chances are you can fix it! All you have to do is have a good mental attitude, attention to detail, the ability to think, and the ability to execute. Welcome to #YouTubeGold. This is a new parody / spinoff series that celebrates the great technological advances of Radio Control vehicles - and the excitement of running a Gold Mine. For years I have been a viewer of shows such as "#Yukon Gold", "#Gold Rush", "Bering Sea Gold" and other Discovery Network / History Channel shows that have to do with mining. I have dabbled in both "hobbies" and have already filmed previous "gold mining" videos here on my channel over the years. But in 2018, I think it is time to step up my game and expand a family run business. I was thinking about starting small... Real small. In fact, 1/14th in scale. I have been saving up for new Radio Controlled (RC) mining equipment, and already have a slew of older equipment which you will see in this film. The new stuff is finally starting to arrive - and is my list of new, hand picked equipment is promised to leave you amazed and astounded at what is available in the hobby world. I would like to mention, I live in Canada. My mining season is short.. but should be fun for a rookie. First on my list to assemble is the new Shaker (soon to be WASH) Plant. After purchasing on the website this model was shipped to me from Vietnam, where I assume these models are made. THIS KIT IS A BLAST to RIP AROUND! What better way to break in a new LUXURY TANK KIT then to take it out in the woods and throttle down! I have been wanting to get this tank out in action for SO LONG on the trail.. and finally I was able to get it done today, with the help of my lovely wife. We headed out into the woods to get some sloppy action of this luxury style tank (featured in the FAST AND THE FURIOUS) - and see what it can do in NATURE! A full size RIPSAW is custom made, and can vary in price - but you can expect to pay at least $385,996 USD for one. A 1/10th scale version KIT is a MUCH Better bargain at about $1000 USD. They also offer an RTR version at a slightly higher price. I remember when Richard Hammond from GRAND TOUR first drive the RIPSAW around the streets of Dubai. He loved that he was driving a high-end luxury super tank. The full size version came with air conditioning, adjustable heated and cooled seats, winches, a light bar, and a "Thunderbird-style" steering wheel. Well.. the 1/10th version comes with almost all of that.. just the air conditioning is natural, and the adjustable heated / cooled seats are not an option. HAH! "PiG STUDiO" has come up with this fascinating likeness of the full size version that comes in kit form. I was fortunate enough to score one from a visit I had to Hong Kong back in 2016. Don't get me wrong.. this kit is BRAND NEW to market as of 2019.. and I am one of the very few lucky enough to demonstrate today. Yes, I am back with my maniacal Toybota Project.. Haven't I had enough?! Clearly, not. My PADDLE TiRES have come in.. and I have several tests I want to run through. For example - if I take the outboard motor off of it.. will it become "the toyfloata" ? Is it practical? Do the paddles increase the speed ? If you run the tires AND motor at the same time.. does THAT increase the speed?! What happens if you FLOOD the back tray.. does the truck sink? These are questions that people wanted answered - and I'm here to answer! These tires are 1.9 Sand Thrashers - and I promised our viewers that I would try to get this Truck Boat in the water with JUST PADDLES! Well - you know me.. if you have followed my show - I make good on my promises! Lets put some tires onto bead locks - and test it out. This is a crazy project - hair brained, to be sure. I have built an amphibious vehicle (a replica TOYOTA Land Cruiser LC70 UTE, and it is radio controlled. I have attempted this crossing before, but ran into a few problems on the maiden voyage. I built the truck as a kit, and expanded on my ideas from there. This truck is full 4x4, locked - and has a 2 speed Transmission. I have custom built this truck with full intention of mounting a GiANT REPLICA of a 250 HP HONDA OUTBOARD MOTOR - and seeing if I could cross a large body of water. Back in the days of TOP GEAR BBC - with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, our family would always gather to watch the show all the way from Canada! In my quest to use every model I have in 2019, this video was anticipated and inevitable! These are two of my most favourite trucks.. and they certainly work well together. The 1948 International I built a few years ago.. (I did a build series on YouTube) Its a pretty good paint job, if I do say so myself.. and the open differential, 2WD makes this truck a challenge to drive.. but so satisfying to play with! It has been 2 seasons since I have turned this beast machine on.. and I must say that it fired right up, with no issues at all. The giant tires I have installed are Maxxis Trepadors from Kraken RC. The machine I mounted them to, is a Kraken "Vekta 5" race truck. I have a love/hate relationship with this vehicle.. and today, I absolutely LOVE IT! All except for that one darn rock on the track (which never should have been there).. this machine performed exactly the way I always dreamt it could! Incredible! I take it easy on the truck today.. because it has been a very long time since I have run it. I need to get used to throwing that much heavy weight around in the air, and landing properly. We are ready to Roll Out, and our trucks are full of fuel. These are 1/14 sized trucks.. powered by 2s or 3s lipo. (8v or 12v). Some of these trucks are pulling B-Train trailers .. hauling a full load. My truck is the ORANGE Tanker truck that took a beating. Looks worse that it is though.. and I look forward to repairing it. About 1/2 of use came away with some sort of damage on our trucks.. Small trucks in a full size world is a lot of fun.. but obstacles that are usually small to a full size.. are monstrous at 14 times bigger! Playing in the mud with trucks has never been so much fun! These are purpose built model trucks that have been in a variety of competitions for 2 days. Now 3 1/2 tanks of fuel have run through this engine. I have read that it takes 5 tanks of fuel to run through these engines to see MAXIMUM Speed after the piston is properly seated. I think part of the appeal of this hobby is that I can own vehicles in small scale, which I would more than likely, never own in full size. In the beginning I was rather light on the throttle - but as I progressed, I became trigger happy! The snow is slightly deeper, and I am powering this rig with a 3s Lipo battery. Im thinking a 4s would be perfect. This is a snowmobile kit that we built, manufactured by "Art Attack Snowmobiles". I am running a Tekin 1700kv Brushless motor and RX8 ESC. The track on the snow mobile is studded.. but in the deeper snow (fluffy stuff) it easily chews through - but unfortunately has a difficult time if it is too fluffy. The rider does not "sway" back and forth to shift weight (like in full scale) so it is a small challenge. I think a more powerful battery will help. The theme of todays video is TREAD LiGHTLY, & "Respect the Land". Firstly, I would like to thank all of the competitors who took part in this ULTiMATE SCALE CHALLENGE, and a special Shout Out to Club Leader, Trevor Rushford of [(RC/EC) Radio Controlled East Coast, USA] for his help in setting up this competition, hosted by Krazy Joe, and the Rude Boyz RC club in Alberta, Canada. **Note: These competitors were SHOWN THE RULES and had several weeks notice of these rules, prior to todays competition. Its a matter of who read the rules, and are aware of these "Lessons". These rules were once again read out loud prior to the competition starting. WHAT AN AWESOME MACHINE!! I could only tell in the editing process that this engine STILL HAS MORE TO GO! WOW, what an upgrade over the stock engine, and pipe. This is fantastic..! MY FiRST RUN with my new HPI VENTURE!! I am super stoked! I wanted to give you guys some great tips and tricks while crawling with my new truck - and testing the capabilities of this new machine. This truck is nice and compact, and really surpassed my expectations. The suspension flex is great - and the tires (for a stock tire) is pretty acceptable. The somewhat sticky compound really held up well - though I question how they would do in a colder environment. But really - there is no really good compound when the temperatures drop close to 0c. Another strong point of this truck is the wheel base. Though it is not as long as some others - this truck traverses the rocks without always getting caught up. Some of the improvements I would like to see on this truck will be the Steering servo, as well as the belly drag. The truck would benefit from a slightly higher belly, as to not get hung up on higher points. But - this is a personal choice, and of course my driving. Overall this truck did super well on a rather difficult and treacherous rock course! I would indeed suggest this truck to filks who are looking for a stable, and fun rig! Modifying it is all about personal choice, and "making it your own!" Snow, Ice & COLD. How will the 240lb Tank Destroyer do in its first "real test"? Through the snow, and up the steepest hill I have around me.. will this big beast power its way up, or fail and catch on fire? This is an "Elefant", made by a company named Armortek, in England. I built this kit with my friends. We filmed it here: http://bit.ly/2RpB0ou I did not want the "classic" historic WW2 tank destroyer, rather - bring it into this century as a Policed State Intimidator.. but first, I must test the power of the motors.. and the batteries... and have a little fun! My vision is: this is a 2019 Canadian Policed State Citizen Control Unit. It's from a "not too distant" Future, and has a thin aluminum jacket. Magnetic Anti Tank Bombs don't stick.. This machine runs on 24v, (Dual 12's in series) and has a run time of about 20 minutes.. It is all aluminum, and quite a work of art to see in person. My cannon does not shoot anything.. I just completed this build, and at the moment do not have a plan for any projectiles.. BUT, this doesn't mean never! I drove my RC Truck from Land, to Water, To Land Again! AHHH, SHE's RiDiNG the WAVES LiKE A TWiG!! Today is the second attempt at putting this Tribute Build to the BBC Toybota back into the "Mini-Channel" to attempt a full crossing. I have built an amphibious vehicle (a replica TOYOTA Land Cruiser LC70 UTE, and it is radio controlled. I have attempted this crossing before, but ran into a few problems on the maiden voyage. I built the truck as a kit, and expanded on my ideas from there. This truck is full 4x4, locked - and has a 2 speed Transmission. I have custom built this truck with full intention of mounting a GiANT REPLICA of a 250 HP HONDA OUTBOARD MOTOR - and seeing if I could cross a large body of water. Back in the days of TOP GEAR BBC - with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, our family would always gather to watch the show all the way from Canada! I was always inspired by the crazy stunts and activities those boys got up to.. and one that always stuck out in my mind - was the Toybota (Part Toyota, Part Truck), and the Truck Boat Challenge with the Nissan - and the 3 of them crossed the English channel to BEAT Sir Richard Branson's record time in an amphibious vehicle. It is -20 degrees outside, and the frigid air is crisp with fresh snowfall. What a great opportunity to take out two of my custom Radio Control trucks and clear a path. The cold weather certainly makes a film like this difficult, but I was still able to get some great shots of these machines in action. I have some work to do on the plow truck still, with a better lift system, and some snow chains. The 3D Printed Snowblower is mounted on a modified Kyosho Blizzard. Each one of these trucks has an individual sound system installed, as well as a whole mess of electronics to keep these beasts running in these conditions. Yes, the Semi Truck (Optimus Overkill), has a smoker system installed in is 6 Wheel drive, with 6 Wheel Steering. Optimus Overkill is a completely custom truck, and is one of a kind. The "BiG DiRTY" is an annual event that takes place at our Ranch. It is by invitation only, and seems to be getting bigger every year. Its like being on a different planet altogether! Here - this terrain has always been 200ft from my house.. and at its DEEPEST point I mapped it at 34 feet! This is my 7th time attempting to find my lost DJI Phantom Vision 2 that was downed 6 years ago. I have only posted 3 videos about diving with machine. I have approximately 10-11 hours of piloting time - and I am using an iPhone 11 Max Pro as my wifi communications device. If you are new to my channel - welcome. Usually I post Radio Control hobby videos - and how this is different is that the sub actually has a communications cable tethered to the machine and radio. The model I am using is the Qysea FiFish V6 Underwater ROV Submarine. GET ONE HERE: https://amzn.to/3c4BSX3 It is able to be used in Salt Water - though my pond is "fresh" water. Making films about this machine can be difficult as a variety of factors can impact a users ability to do so. For example. If used on a bright day... the reflection from a screen can be rather difficult to deal with. The First Person view goggles that I have aren't very effective either, as they are difficult to focus and lineup. Also, for such a large phone like the iphone 11 Max Pro, the goggles are too small - and they do not display all the information as a result. (To be fair, the Goggles were invented BEFORE the iphone 11 - so me blaming Qysea [the manufacturer] makes no sense). Another thing that makes the machine a challenge to use, (rather an operator just needs more practice), is the delay in gyroscopic information between the submarine and the display screen. This could be due to a slow wifi, or a latency between radio and screen. With some practice, this could be overcome, but it is rather frustrating at times. Not being able to physically see the sub when it is submerged, the only information available to the operator is what is on the screen - ( both the Gyro Data and the Visual Camera Image). An 8000lb Radio Controlled Skid is like any other RC! Just.. BiGGER! I have to maintain and replace pieces - just like any Radio Control vehicle - and today, its the Robotics Module I have to Replace. Thankfully Torc Robotics (the manufacturer of the module) has awesome tech support and warranty As soon as they knew I had an issue - a new setup was on the way into the mail. I have never raised the cab on my Skid Steer before - so this was an adventure for me, through and through!
